This catchers mitt has a 32.5 inch circumference which some older players might think is a little small. However, when you put it on your hand, you'll feel like it'll be big enough to set quite a target for a pitcher. As well, it should only require the final 20% of the break-in process to be done by the player. Lastly, the wrist opening will be set for an older player, but we think many young select players should still be able to use and excel with this mitt!

This glove features a super cool Pro Style 6019 pattern from Rawlings. This will allow the glove to have the same 12.75" length, trapeze web and extra deep pocket; just like some professional outfielders that use Rawlings gloves. However, the leather will be softer and make it easier to break in. As well, the glove will have a finger shift design that will encourage a player to where the glove with 2 fingers in the pinky slot.

As a last note, this glove will have a little bit larger fit for a high school or adult sized hand, but it is commonly recommended for young players that want a little bit larger glove that has an easy break-in.

R9s are incredible because they combine softness and quality to allow players to get a bargain-priced glove, but feel like they're using a glove similar to their big league heroes. This glove features the 204 pattern (which is used by big leaguers) that'll create a deep pocket that middle infielders and third basemen should equally enjoy. Lastly, this glove will be set at the largest wrist setting and be able to fit high school sized hands (and even older). However, you'll find players aged from 8-14 years that are able to still handle this glove!

This glove has an 11.75 inch length which will make it a really good contender for use on the left side of the infield (i.e. SS and 3B). However, if preferred, it can be used at a number of defensive positions. As well, this glove will be outfitted with soft, yet durable leather that should break in quickly; but also hold up for multiple seasons of use. 

If you have interest in this glove for a younger player, I think you'll be in luck. The wrist is set at the larger opening and could fit a high school to adult sized hand. However, we have commonly seen gloves like this R9 get used by 8-14 year old players with great reviews. If you want to get a glove for your player that they can grow into with time, then this glove is an awesome selection.

The Pro Preferreds have a reputation that certainly precedes them. When one simply hears the name “Pro Preferred”, they know that they are dealing with baseball mitt excellence.

Kip Leather is the material that is used to build the shell of the mitt. And when compared to other high-quality leather materials, many mitt aficionados feel that the break-in on Kip Leather items can be a little quicker.
